Third period:

0:00 Stars win 4-1.

5:13 Texas on the PK. Fortunus in the box.

12:08 Travis Morin makes it 4-1. Sneaks it between Climie and the post.

12:43 Texas continuing to pressure for that fourth goal. Puck slips loose behind Climie but he covers it up.

14:17 Odd shot on goal almost sneaks past Climie. Hit two different players and required a quick reaction by the goalie.

18:02 2-on-1 chance for Stransky and Vause, puck is put just over the bar by Stransky.

19:09 Nice pad save by Campbell on a break by Chicago.

Second period:

0:00 End of the 2nd. Texas lead 3-1.

1:59 Texas takes its timeout. Looks like a chance to get a breather after an icing.

3:08 Chicago puts one home. Make that 3-1 Texas. I think Justin Dowling may have tipped that into his own net.

4:28 Travis Morin with an absolute snipe on the rush. 3-0 Texas.

5:19 Media timeout.

8:24 Nice save with the right pad by Campbell. Chance came moments after Texas had a 2-on-1 that was defused.

9:56 Texas kills the PP.

11:56 Texas will go on the penalty kill for the first time tonight. William Wrenn was called for tripping.

14:59 Texas makes it 2-0 on the PP. Maxime Fortunus on the blast from the point.

15:58 Texas gets the first power play of the game. Matt Climie was called for a shove with the glove after the whistle.

16:14 Toby Petersen headed to the locker room. I think it’s an equipment issue.

19:01 Mike Hedden all alone on the doorstep, but it somehow is turned away by Climie.

First period:

0:00 End of the period. Texas 1, Chicago 0

1:45 Great chance for Mike Hedden slithers wide.

5:11 Jack Campbell stops a breakaway by Keith Aucoin. Jyrki Jokipakka’s stick broke on the play and allowed Aucoin to get loose.

5:38 Francis Wathier with a breakaway chance, but it’s knocked down with the glove by Climie.

7:15 Nice turn around chance for Morin. Looked like it almost got past Climie. Still 1-0 Texas.

9:53 Highlight reel goal for Colton Sceviour. Travis Morin with the slick pass after a couple moves, Sceviour had the net completely empty. 1-0 Texas

13:00 Matej Stransky with Texas first scoring chance of the season. Shot off the rush, pass from Taylove Vause.

14:43 CPC fans first complaint about hybrid icing of the year. I tend to agree with the with the boos, feel it was an even race.

16:46 Campbell makes his first save of the season on an easy shot by Joel Edmundson from the top of the circles.
