Mueller sent back to Texas, Sceviour possibly NHL-bound for rest of season

Colton Sceviour may have played his last game as a Texas Star last Saturday.

Sceviour and Chris Mueller where called up to Dallas on an emergency basis last nigh. Both played well and Sceviour scored Texas’ first goal, possibly locking up a long-term spot in Dallas after Rich Peverly’s cardiac problems.

Mueller was returned to Texas and should be in the lineup tonight. I would guess Mueller would move to the first line with Traivs Morin and Curtis McKenzie.

Here is the official release:

CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has returned center Chris Mueller on loan to Texas.

Mueller, 28, was recalled by Dallas on March 11th and registered two shots on goal and won three-of-five faceoffs (60.0%) at St. Louis. He is fourth on Texas with 53 points (24 goals, 29 assists) in 57 games played and is tied for the AHL lead with 14 power play goals. The 5-foot-11, 210-pound native of West Seneca, New York was signed by Dallas as a free agent on July 8, 2013.

The Dallas Stars’ next game is on Friday, March 14th as they host the Vancouver Canucks for a 7:30 p.m. faceoff at American Airlines Center.
