CEDAR PARK — The Texas Stars should be in pretty good shape if they can replicate their effort from Friday’s 2-0 loss to the Grand Rapids Griffins.

“We had a good effort, but we can’t be satisfied because we didn’t get the win,” captain Maxime Fortunus said. “We still had a lot of chances. We’ll need to make sure we bury those chances (tonight).”

Texas fired 34 shots at Grand Rapids goalie Tom McCollum last night. The Griffins’ goalie made his share of sharp saves, but he also was given time and space to track the puck. Tonight the Stars want to create more traffic in front of the net.

Stars coach Derek Laxdal said there would be a couple minor tweaks to the lineup.

Defensemen Ludwig Bystrom will enter the lineup after Esa Lindell left the team and flew to Finland this morning.

There won’t be any new scratches at forward, but Laxdal said he’d move Valeri Nichushkin to the left wing on the third line. The 20-year-old Russian will be paired up with Devin Shore and Branden Troock.

Matej Stransky will drop to the fourth line with Kevin Henderson and Gemel Smith.

Jack Campbell will start in goal.

Jussi Rynnas practiced by himself before an optional morning skate today. Laxdal said the Finnish goalie will hopefully travel with the team on it’s next road trip, which starts April 3.

Projected lineup:

Hulak-Morin-Rallo
Ranford-Dowling-Glennie
Nichushkin-Shore-Troock
Henderson-Smith-Stransky

Oleksiak-Fortunus
Gaunce-Honka
Meech-Bystrom

Campbell
