Dallas Stars prospects set for playoff situation against Detroit

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — The Dallas Stars prospects are going to get a playoff atmosphere before the season starts when they face the Detroit Red Wings prospects tonight.

Detroit currently leads the Gordie Howe Division with six points, while Dallas is in second with four. The tournament is using a three-point system (three points for a win, two for an overtime win, and one for an overtime loss), meaning Dallas will have to win in regulation to clinch a spot in the championship match.

“I heard they have a pretty good team, good speed,” Ludwig Bystrom said Monday morning. “I guess we have to play with good speed and have pretty good puck movement, and take the puck to the net.”

Dallas will also deal with a hostile crowd. Throughout the tournament Red Wings prospects have drawn large crowds, which is expected here in Northern Michigan.
