Texas Stars blowout Rockford, reach 4-0 for first time in franchise history

The Texas Stars completed a three-in-three weekend sweep with a 7-2 victory against the Rockford Icehogs on Sunday.

Greg Rallo scored twice and Maxime Lagace stopped 34 of 36 shot to lead Texas to its best start in franchise history.

Lagace looked confident in his second start of the season. He made a couple difficult stops in the first period before Rallo scored, and made a couple nice stops in the second and third periods.

Rallo scored both goals in the first period, while Matej Stransky also scored in the opening stanza to give Texas an early 3-0 lead.

Branden Troock scored his first goal of the season 33 seconds into the second period.

Gemel Smith and Esa Lindell scored in the third period to give Texas a 6-0 lead before Rockford broke Lagace’s shutout bid with a pair of goals.

Remi Elie scored on a power play late in the contest to make it 7-2.

Texas returns home this week for a Wednesday matchup with the Stockton Heat.
