Texas Stars rookie forward Devin Shore kept finding ways to reach the goal last weekend, when his shots kept ending up in the back of the net.

Shore was named the American Hockey League player of the week after scoring five times as Texas swept a trio of games last weekend against the Chicago Wolves and Rockford IceHogs. The Stars return home to face the Stockton Heat at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Park Center.

Of Shore’s team-high six goals this season, five have come within a couple of feet of the net. On those plays, Shore has used his powerful 6-foot-1-inch, 205-pound frame to muscle past opposing defenders and goalies.
